You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They'll also recognize my voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd.

Here Jesus tells Jews that his “flock” does not consist only of Jews. Each people group traditionally had its own god(s). Jesus is saying this is not the way it will be. People from various people groups will follow Christ and all be one.

Jesus levels the playing field so that all have the opportunity to be His. I think this applies not only to ethnic and social groups, but also to different denominations, different streams of Christianity, different worship styles, etc. We need to be humble about those groups with which we are affiliated, recognizing that other groups are equally part of the body of Christ.
