     ⁶ “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father.”

¹² I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.

What does it mean that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life”? One meaning, I think, is the key is a relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not correct doctrine, belonging to the “right” church, following certain prescribed behaviors, etc., which are key (which is not to say there is no value to useful doctrine, the fellowship of believers, or right action). Those kinds of things we can put in a box or make a checklist about, which is something we often find relatively easy to do. But we are called to the more demanding, more dynamic way of actually interacting with Christ on an ongoing basis, allowing Christ to guide us and give real meaning to our lives.

If we actually integrate our lives with Christ, Christ's power will flow through us. This explains how we can be enabled to do the things that Christ did, or even greater things.

Dear friends, seek to get to know Christ better and to allow Christ into every corner of your lives. Walk with Christ on a daily basis. And then give Christ the glory for the love and power which flows through you into a needy world which Christ yearns to redeem.
