Friends in Christ Weekly Message

     Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be restored, be encouraged, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11 (HCSB*)

Paul reminds followers of Christ in Corinth, and by extension groups of followers everywhere, how to be with each other in the faith community. He is talking about attitudes, the way of being that undergirds our actions. It reminds me of the historic central Quaker query to be answered by meetings of the Religious Society of Friends, “Are peace and unity maintained among you?”

When we encourage one another and are in unity with one another, we feel the presence of the God of love and peace among us. What a sweet feeling!
