The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord’s Spirit sets us free. So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord’s Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (CEV*)

The Lord's Spirit sets us free! It frees us from the things which distract us from doing and being what is truly important - living in the way of Christ. It takes the masks off our faces so we can live authentically and absorb God's glory unimpeded.

This is a dynamic process, not a sudden complete transformation. The NIV and NRSV translations say we "are being transformed." As we allow the Spirit of Christ to live in us, we become more and more like Christ.

Have you opened yourself up to the Lord's Spirit? Are you being transformed into the likeness of Christ?
