Those who walked in the dark
have seen a bright light.
And it shines upon everyone
who lives in the land of darkest shadows.
Isaiah 9:2 (CEV*)
The true light that shines on everyone
was coming into the world.
John 1:9 (CEV*)
Sometimes things seem very dark. It seems like the forces of evil have great power.
But at Christmas we are reminded that the true light that shines on everyone has come into the world. Christ is a bright light who dispels the darkness.
We need to live in the light of Christ. And we need to trust that one day we will see God's kingdom in all its fullness. We have good reason for hope.
