I saw Holy Jerusalem, new-created, descending resplendent out of Heaven, as ready for God as a bride for her husband.
Revelation 21:2 (Message*)

Not only does God come to us as individuals here and now, but scripture says that a new created world, without the imperfections of this one, will come out of heaven down to us. The newly created world will be one that does not have the alienation from God present in this one.

From the prophets and the Psalms in the Old Testament to the Gospels and on to Revelation, we see repeated mentions of a future in which all of creation lives in harmony with God. We see glimpses of it now, and are called to live in that vision to the extent we can in this time and place.
