Friends in Christ Weekly Message

Would that all God's people were prophets. Would that God would put his Spirit on all of them.
Numbers 11:29 (Message*)

This is what Moses said when Joshua complained to him about 70 elders prophesying after the Lord had put His Spirit on them. Moses was tired of having been the only person speaking for the Lord.

This same theme appears at later points in the scriptures. There was always this desire among those closest to God that more people would have His Spirit and would become prophets.

Couldn't this world use a lot more genuine prophets of the Lord? Don't we need a lot more of the deep truth telling which is characteristic of prophets? Wouldn't we benefit by having a lot more Spirit-filled people?
