Friends in Christ Weekly Message

The poor and the homeless
won't always be forgotten and without hope.
Psalm 9:18 (CEV*)

The scriptures are full of references to God's care for the poor and oppressed. This is a theme repeated over and over in both the Old and New Testaments.

Doesn't God work through his people, the body of Christ which is the church? Aren't we called to “preach good news to the poor” at least as much in actions as in words? How are we doing in being faithful to God's call in this area?
