Friends in Christ Weekly Message

You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (CEV*)

Because we believe in Jesus Christ does not mean we are free from temptation. We have the same temptations to do what is not pleasing to God as anyone else. Most of us can probably recognize that from experience.

However, we can face our temptations knowing we have God's help. The apostle Paul expresses two ways this help works. One is to not let us be tempted too much. The other is to be shown how to escape, i.e., not give in to, our temptations.

Do you trust God in these two ways of helping us with our temptations? Do you regularly experience God's help when facing temptation?
