Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near!
Philippians 4:5 (NET Bible®*)

I know someone who sometimes wears a “Born to be mild” T-shirt. It really suits her because of her gentleness. She has been active in spiritual formation work, and she has memorized all the psalms. People listen to what she has to say about spiritual development because of her gentle manner. A gentle spirit will often result in others letting down their defenses.

It's more difficult for me. But I have found as I pay more attention to Christ - who is always near - the more gentle I become. And my Christian walk is more winsome when everyone can see gentleness in me.

Are you growing in gentleness? Do you feel that the Lord is near?
