     My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God's truth, don't write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God.
James 5:19-20 (Message*)

What about those who have wandered away from the faith? What should we do about them?

James ends his letter to the churches with a plea not to write such people off. He implores us to go after them. This is both because of love for them, and to forestall a snowball effect of people leaving the faith.

We are often shy about this work. We are fearful to offend. It needs to be done with great sensitivity, but we should not shirk from this task.
