Yet some people accepted him and put their faith in him.
So he gave them the right to be the children of God.
They were not God's children
by nature or because of any human desires.
God himself was the one who made them his children.
John 1:12-13 (CEV*)
God was kind and decided that Christ would choose us to be God's own adopted children.
Ephesians 1:5 (CEV*)
I came into this world blessed with three sisters. Only one of them came out of my mother's womb; the other two had been adopted into our family. They were all three equally my sisters. So I have an understanding of the power of adoption.
Scripture teaches us that all who accept Christ are adopted by God as His children. God puts no limits on the size of His family. He desires us all to be His children, but He won't force adoption on anyone. Each person has to accept it.
To me, it is simply awesome that I have been adopted by God. He's the best Daddy anyone could have. He loves without limit, He's always there to listen to me, and His guidance is always just right for me.
If you haven't accepted this adoption, I urge you to do so. You won't be sorry. If you have, are you living in thankfulness for that great blessing? May we each show our love for our adopted Daddy by the way in which we live our lives.
