Welcome! We're glad you are visiting our Web site. Here you can find information about the Friends in Christ ministry.
We have a local ministry building Christian small groups and providing other Christian opportunities primarily in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC and Baltimore. We provide, and work through larger faith communities to provide, opportunities to nurture your growth in Christ through groups which meet in different places. Each group chooses its own format and focus. It is our hope that groups will reflect ethnic and cultural diversity.
Bible Study Group
We have a Bible study group meeting on first and third Monday evenings (with occasional exceptions) in homes in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties in Maryland. It is currently studying Acts. We welcomes new participants.
We are always open to new groups. If the current group is not convenient for you, and your interested in being part of a new group, contact Bill Samuel.
Worship
Friends in Christ does not have a regular worship gathering at this time. There are Friends (Quaker) groups in Washington and Baltimore (not organized by Friends in Christ) with a focus on Christ Jesus:
- Capitol Hill Friends meets at William Penn House, 515 E. Capitol St. SE, Washington, DC, Sundays (except first Sundays), 4-6:30 PM.
- Old Town Friends Fellowship (formerly known as Seton Hill Worship Group) meets for Bible & Quaker studies 5 PM, worship 5:45 PM, potluck 7 PM Sundays, Aisquith Street Meeting House, N. Aisquith & E. Fayette Streets (1201 E. Fayette St.), Baltimore, MD.
These groups started by others may not be convenient in terms of time of meeting and/or location for some who would be interested in Christian worship and fellowship which includes some waiting worship in the Friends (Quaker) tradition. Friends in Christ is open to facilitating new worship and fellowship groups. If interested, contact Bill Samuel.
